Blue skies and great people at the KSA Gauteng Industry Showcase

The KSA Gauteng industry showcase has grown each year changing the face of how we, as an industry association, and our members interact with one another and with industry professionals. The 2023 showcase continued in this vein.
This year’s event was held at Mark’s Park in Emmarentia. We were blessed with great weather and being out, in the beautiful setting only added to the event. This year we showcased the following KSA supplier members: Kayreed, Rehau, Niemann SA, Union Tiles, Roco, Unipanel, Novodecor, Sonae Arauco, Nukor, Blum, Articad, PG Bison, Morrells, Neolith, FIT, Boardmart, Vogue Doors, Grass, SA Stone Studio, Max on Top, Upper Edge Products and Franke. Each supplier took the opportunity to showcase either new product or to update people on their existing ranges and share plans for the future. For members like Union Tiles, SA Stone Studio, Neolith and Unipanel this was their first showcase. New to the event was collaboration with other associations like IID, GIFA and SACAP. GIFA were able to join us on the day. To make the event truly engaging for industry professionals we offered, for the first time, five CPD talks during the course of the day. This was a fantastic drawer card for architects and interior designers who took the opportunity to maximise their points and stay most of the day. The first talk was by Novodecor discussing developments in laminates. This included showcasing their new fabric laminate, Kevlar laminate and anti-bacterial laminate. Sonae Arauco’s talk was on board product trends as well as looking at the global industry. Blum then gave a talk that links beautifully to the KSA’s student kitchen design project – designing for a handicapped or infirmed person. This was followed by Union Tile’s talk on stone and sintered surfaces. The talks came to a close with Franke’s engaging presentation on sink and tap trends and maintenance. We were pleased to be joined by a delegation from Tshwane University of Technology whose third-year interior design students are currently doing the KSA’s kitchen design project. Our congratulations go to Amy Sharman, out Gauteng regional representative for pulling off such a classy, enjoyable and relaxed event that was thoroughly enjoyed by the hosts and the more than five hundred visitors.
