New particleboard plant for Piet Retief – new 1000m3 per day plant

PG Bison is proud to announce that we will be replacing our current daylight particleboard press in Piet Retief with a new state-of-the-art continuous press.

The new line will be installed in Piet Retief in 2 phases. The 1st phase will be the installation of a continuous press and forming line. This will cost +/-R 600 million and will increase our Piet Retief capacity from the current 600m3 to 680 m3 per day. This phase will be completed within the next 2 years.

The 2nd phase, which includes the upgrade of the raw material and upgrading area, will be completed as and when market conditions determine and this will then further increase the capacity to 1000m3 per day. We anticipate this phase will be completed within the next 4 to 5 years.

We have been manufacturing particleboard in Piet Retief for almost 50 years and are proud to be continuing to invest in this region.

On completion of the new Piet Retief plant, PG Bison’s particleboard production capacity, inclusive of Ugie will be 2000m3 per day, which we believe will be sufficient to service the market for the foreseeable future.

All PG Bison’s products inclusive of Supawood, will then be manufactured using the latest technology and offering the best quality product in the market.

We will also continue to focus on our upgrading facilities and as recently announced, our new Gloss UV line will commissioned in the 1st half of next year.

Our expansion cannot happen without the support of our customers, and for this we thank you.

PG Bison remains committed to servicing and growing our customers by continuously investing in our industry.
